Okay, it’s only Mon-Thu, only this fall, and only done by official hunting groups (NO PUBLIC HUNTING ALLOWED). It’s also isolated to two main areas, and most hunting will be done with bows.

I’m grateful it’s restricted to certain weekdays. I think it’s feasible for long walks to be limited to weekends for a little while. Who knew the deer population was so huge? Actually, I do remember seeing one here Christmas Eve, galloping across the pavement. It’s more common for our friends in American Village, but we’re kind of far from Duke Forest (or any large cluster of trees)…
Note, btw, this part of the text:
“The Durham, Blackwood, Eno and Hillsboro Divisions will be closed to public access on hunting days, Monday through Thursday.”
So, no worries about getting shot or anything.
