Great resource, thanks. Not bad for our kidlets. 8:20 a.m. pick-up and a 10-minute ride to school (we all know of other kids with looooooong bus commutes). The slight bummer is that bus-kids aren’t released in the bus parking lot to go into the school until exactly 8:45. So it’s really 25 minutes total on the bus.
15 minutes of quiet reading time sounds like a great way to start the day!
Yikes! Looks like there are a few schools missing from the bus routes..WG Pearson Elementary and Middle school children-
The other middle schools are there, but you’re right that Pearson isn’t listed for bus schedules. Was there an open house last night?
Yes..there does not seem to be a bus coming our way! I just thought I would look for myself to find a route/stop nearby that I could take my child to instead of having to escort to and from the school next week. The school said it would be at least 3 days before a stop could be added.
Karla, that is interesting. Are you in a new development, or is your child in a new school or ??? I wonder what combination created this. I hope it is resolved quickly!
Hi Valarie!
No! My family has lived in Durham in the same location for about 7 years now! My son is in a new school..and it IS new to Durham too!
On Friday 9/5 we finally recieved the bus schedule. Hopefully all will settle down now that this has happened. Starting a new school especially for Middle Schoolers is very trying for both parents and kids. This is my 3rd to accomplish this milestone,
Ah… I’m glad it looks like it’s going to work smoothly now. Good luck to your kiddo in middle school–that is quite a step!
Does anyone have an updated web address for the online bus schedules? I’ve been on hold with the Durham Public Schools transportation line for almost an hour now.
They have just tweaked the schedules at our school b/c of more/less kids riding, and I bet that is system-wide. Instead of calling transportation, call the school itself. They will have the most up-to-date copy.
Thanks for responding so quickly! I appreciate that. However, the school told me to call the transportation line. :o)
The bus stop they gave my step daughter isn’t the one that the driver has been dropping her off at and we’re not sure what time she should catch the bus in the morning. We just moved her. Hopefully she’ll ask the bus driver today but I wanted an alternate place to find the information as well. Thanks again!
