Stay
My kids have been brainwashed by the drought not to sing the Rain Rain Go Away song (because of bad luck, y’know) but rather to do their take on it, Rain Rain Stay and Stay, and so they happily stomp in the rain, and do rain walks, and go with me to playgrounds in the rain now. It is odd that it seems that it won’t ever stop raining, but great that no one complains.
The yellow pine pollen (and the other less obvious pollen) is being washed away in streams to the storm sewers.
I hear the Durham Farmer’s Market opens this weekend. I hope it is a sunny and warm morning for it.

I am watching the forecast like a hawk. It’s supposed to be very very rainy tomorrow morning :(
It’s rain or shine, though, right? And we do have that nice shelter now. Here’s hoping for a short break in the rain!
really, thank god for the rain, on multiple levels. For one, I’m terribly happy that the pollen is being washed away before it gets into my sinuses!!!
Yes, true. From the DFM newsletter: “…Tomorrow’s weather forecast, which calls for 70 degrees and rain, is a far cry from the weather on opening day last year. The temperatures hovered around freezing and several farmers came to market with snow-covered trucks! After that , a warm rainy day certainly sounds delightful….”
I do have a tent, but if it rains I don’t think a lot of crafters will be there (me included). I actually hang my quilts on the sides of my tent and if it rains, won’t have a way of displaying them. Plus we’d have to set up etc in the rain. No fun! So i’m 99% sure I won’t be going tomorrow :( It would be different if we were under the pavilion with the farmers.
but I plan on it for the rest of the saturdays of this month and next
Oh, bummer. See you next time!
