Duke Gardens, Brown
The theme at Duke Gardens today was Brown, with Pansies. Couldn’t decide if this is because of the drought or the month.
Brown frisbee field… the whole field is blocked off for grass renovation.
A giant Koi easily visible without lilypads to hide beneath
Detail of new bridge, east of the terrace gardens

The bridge is really neat looking. :)
There’s just something really sad about a field of brown grass.
It’s so not kind to point - even at Koi. I bet he feels mocked. LOL
Hee!
i hope they aren’t planning to water that “renovated” field while we’re still under Stage IV restrictions.
Heh, yeah. It didn’t actually look like they were renovating anything, just keeping people off the brown-ness.
The bridge is really pretty. It’s often the hardscaping that impresses me the most there.
the brown is (new?) sod in the huge new field and in a few spaces around it… we’ve gone a couple of times recently and really enjoyed the new paths, bridges and other new additions. Not so happy with a 4 1/2 yr old tripping and landing with his mouth on a sharp wooden edging around the pond in the Asian gardens, tho’. It’s nice to see the flowering trees and bushes!
But it was so green last summer. What was wrong with the green stuff that was there? Oh, I’m sure there’s a good explanation. I do remember seeing piles of sod in one area. Sorry about your kiddo’s fall; ouch!
that is a really nice looking park and that koi is huge
