I think they used to say that they were the only local bagel place that used the authentic bagelmaking practice of partially cooking the bagels in water before putting them into the oven. But then I saw a Bruegger’s somewhere doing exactly that.
I felt confused.
But damn, a fresh bagel. Oh yum… I like a fresh bagel more than any fresh-baked dessert. I don’t know if I like it better than all other fresh-baked breads, though. I wouldn’t mind doing some more experimenting.
Weaver Street Market in that other town near us has some darn fine olive bread. Guglhupf is tasty, although someone told me they have trans-fats, the whole time during which I said la-la-la-la-I-can’t-hear-you-la-la-la.
