Fair Trade Sneakers
One company that stands out in the shoe industry is New Balance. They maintain several American plants and do more than most to ensure overseas factories are safe for their workers. Today I found a free-standing New Balance store in the strip on Fayetteville Road across from Southpoint Mall, near REI. The little ones’ feet will grow soon enough for us to make a trip.
Seedlings
The kids have been planting all kinds of seeds in our planters. We will have a nice assortment of veggies and flowers soon, if the freezing temps (!) tonight don’t kill them.
Used Books
Just read in the Regulator newsletter that they will be accepting & selling used books. Fun on both sides!
Water on at Forest Hills Park
The water is on in the sand area at Forest Hills Park. I assume this means the water is also on at Edison Johnson. Laugh, but this is Big News to Durham toddlers.
