Panaderia on Chapel Hill Road
I finally had a second in my driving-around to stop at the Panaderia on Chapel Hill Road, right down from Lakewood Shopping Center. Still painted on the brick outside is “Davis Baking Co.” from long ago. The girl and I had a lovely pink “conches.” It was a bit like the guglhupf (see Guglhupf Bakery on Chapel Hill Boulevard!) … light and airy slightly sweet bread, and with a dash of pink frosting. The girl said, “Mmm, yummy!”

La Panaderia is mi favorita lugar. This place is the best. They always have “the best” tamales. Homemade, warm, and delicious….they are always fantastic. Warm atmosphere and friendly customer service to go along with it.
Oh, that is tempting! I did not know they had non-bakery items. Another reason to go back… thanks!
