Durham = Durham?

I read that Durham County consisted entirely of Durham City, but that’s not right. The county also holds Bahama and Rougemont, and RTP (although I don’t think there is housing in RTP), not to mention the large unincorporated area in Northern Durham County.

  1. Durham is the only city in Durham County. Maybe that’s what they meant. RTP is a special Durham County research district, four miles from Downtown Durham and encompassed on three sides by the City of Durham. Bahama is an unincorporated County neighborhood. It looks like a city on maps because it has a postal substation. Same with Rougemont.
